About Us

Members

The members are mainly PhD Students of the Graduate School of International Social Sciences, and professors of the Faculty of International Social Sciences.

Activities

We publish three issues anuually of the Yokohama Journal of Social Sciences, and subsidize PhD Students' academic conference presentations made at home and abroad.

Application

New Membership

We accept new members at anytime.
Members are entitled to submit articles to The Yokohama Journal of Social Sciences, and participate in study-aid subsidy program for academic conference presentations.

Membership Fee

10,000 yen for three years on a lump-sum basis
3,500 yen annual fee
New members are required to pay 10,000 yen.

Application Procedure

If you are a current or former student of the PhD programs of the Graduate School of International Development Studies, the International Graduate School of Social Sciences, or the Graduate School of International Social Sciences, Yokohama National University, submit an application form to the office.

If you are not affiliated with the Graduate Schools, you are required to obtain recommendation from a faculty member of the Graduate School of International Social Sciences. In case you cannot find anyone to recommend you, please contact us.

Call for Papers

  • Announcements will be made three times a year.

Contribution Procedure

First, contributors must submit an manuscript registration form during the application period.
If you are currently in the PhD program at the Graduate School of International Social Sciences, you must submit a manuscript with an manuscript submission application form, which requires the signature and seal from your primary academic supervisor or another professor as his/her recommendation.

Notes to the Contributor

  • Make sure to meet the deadline.
  • Paper submission without manuscript registration will not be accepted.
  • Read carefully the Instructions to Contributors provided after manuscript regstraion.
  • If you have no affiliation with the Graduate School of International Social Sciences but would like to contribute to the journal, please contact us first.

Publication

We publish The Yokohama Journal of Social Sciences three times a year. Electronic edition only after Volume 25 .
